Clearing the cache

If a change you made in Hype has not shown up on your storefront, clear the cache. Go to Settings → Cache and click Clear Cache. The section's help text reads: If your discounts aren't showing correctly on your store, clear the cache to refresh.

What the cache is

To keep your storefront fast, Hype stores each shop's active campaign data — which campaigns are running, their discount rules, their targeting — for 10 minutes at a time. During that window, every shopper who loads a page gets the stored copy instead of triggering a fresh lookup. The Cache section is labelled Cleared automatically every 10 minutes.

The cache is keyed by shop, market, and any campaign link or discount code in play, so different shoppers can get different cached answers.

What Clear Cache does

Clear Cache discards every stored entry for your shop. The next page load on your storefront rebuilds it from your current campaigns. When it finishes, a message tells you how many entries were removed.

Clearing the cache does not change any campaign, block, setting or schema. It only throws away stored copies. It is always safe to click.

When you should not need it

Hype clears the cache for you whenever you change something that affects the storefront: saving a campaign, enabling or disabling a campaign, toggling live pricing, and saving the live pricing schema all clear it automatically. In normal use you never touch this button.

Click it when something feels stuck — a campaign you disabled is still applying, a new campaign is not appearing, or prices reflect an older configuration.

Other caches that clearing this will not fix

If Clear Cache does not help, one of these is likely the cause:

  • Your browser. Shoppers' browsers store product data for 10 minutes, and that expires on its own. Load your storefront in a private window to bypass it.
  • Shopify's own caching and your CDN. These are outside Hype's control.
  • Already-rewritten prices on an open page. Live pricing marks a price element as done once it has rewritten it and does not touch it again. Reload the page.
  • Theme app blocks. A block that is missing or has the wrong App block ID will not render no matter how often you clear the cache. See Adding a block to your theme.
  • Smart collection membership. That is refreshed on its own 4-hour schedule. See Syncing smart collections.

A quick check

After clearing the cache, open your storefront in a private browsing window. That gives you a fresh browser cache and no earlier Hype state, which is the closest you can get to what a new shopper sees.
