Why isn't my campaign showing on my storefront?

Three things have to be true at the same time before anything from Hype Discounts appears on your storefront: the Hype: Discounts app embed is on in the theme you are looking at, the campaign is Active and not Draft, and the campaign's blocks are added to the theme. If any one of them is false, nothing renders — and there is no error on the page to tell you which one.
Work through these in order. They are listed by how often each one turns out to be the cause.
1. Turn on the app embed
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize.
- Open App embeds in the left sidebar.
- Toggle Hype: Discounts on and click Save.
Hype: Discounts is the only embed every campaign needs. Two more exist and are only needed for those block types: Hype: Toast and Hype: Announcement Bar.
Full steps are in Enable the app embed.
2. Check that Hype is watching the same theme
Hype checks embeds and blocks against one theme, which you choose in Hype → Settings → Theme ("Select the theme where we should check if embeds and app blocks are turned on"). If that is set to an old theme, the app can report everything as fine while your live theme has nothing enabled. Set it to your published theme.
3. Check the campaign status
A campaign in Draft never runs, even with the embed on. Open Campaigns and look at the status badge: Active, Draft, Scheduled or Expired. Scheduled means the start date has not arrived yet; Expired means the end date has passed.
4. Add the campaign's blocks and match the identifier
Storefront blocks are not added automatically. In the campaign, open Campaign blocks, add the block you want, then copy the App block ID and paste it into the matching block's App identifier field in the theme editor. The identifier is how a block on the page finds its campaign — if it does not match, the block renders nothing. Hype warns you with "No block matches this ID, UI may not render properly."
See Adding a block to your theme.
5. Repeat it on every live template
Blocks live in a section of one template. If your store uses several product templates, the block has to be added to each template that is in use. A block added to product.json does not appear on a product using product.bundle.json.
6. Wait out the caches, or clear them
Hype caches the storefront campaign data for 10 minutes. After a change, either wait or click Clear Cache in Hype → Settings. Products in smart collections are refreshed every 4 hours; Sync Now on the same page refreshes them immediately. Shopify's own CDN can also serve the old theme for a short time after you save. See Clear the cache.
